This glorious gem of a movie was recommended to me by my friend Lorra. It is everything I look for in a bad movie– cheesy dialogue, continuity errors, over the top acting, bad special effects, in other words, it’s so bad that it’s good. The audio quality isn’t that great because I’m still trying to figure out the best way to record while getting the least amount of background noise from the movie to avoid copyright infringement.
This came out in October 2020 as a direct to video (direct to streaming?) production through Universal Home Entertainment. It was directed by Don Michael Paul and written by Don Michael Paul, Brian Brightly, Brent Maddox, S.S. Wilson, and Ron Underwood. It stars Michael Gross as Burt Gummer, Jon Heder as Jimmy, Richard Brake as Bill, Caroline Langrishe as Jasmine, Jackie Cruz as Freddie, and Cassie Clare as Anna. It’s on Netflix and Peacock.
Episode notes:
- I have no idea why I was so obsessed by the fact that Jimmy never changed clothes even though everyone else did, but it really irked me.
- It turns out there are actually tropical crows.
- I thought the gun Mohawk and then later Bill fired was a Browning, but it’s actually an M134 Minigun. Burt has a Browning in Tremors 2 (I’m slowly working my way through the rest of the movies). Very different gun.
