This is the perfect movie for St. Patrick’s Day for me. I love this movie so much! It’s hilarious, whimsical, charming, funny, delightful, very well written, and completely sucks you in. It’s one of my all time favorites, and I’m kind of mad at myself for going so long between watching it the first time and seeing it again.
I don’t really have a lot of episode notes for it other than the location is absolutely gorgeous, and I could happily spend the rest of my life with my little house in a setting like the one where Ned Devine’s cottage is placed. Also we do not advocate knocking mean, bitter, spiteful people off of cliffs in phone booths, even if it’s by accident. We may have felt vindicated on behalf of the town though.
This was released in 1998 by 20th Century Fox. It was directed and written by Kirk Jones and stars Ian Bannen as Jackie, David Kelly as Michael, Fionnula Flanagan as Annie, Susan Lynch as Maggie, and James Nesbitt as Pig Finn, and we watched it on Hulu.
