I’m sorry for the delay on this! Everything changing at work with the lifting of all restrictions and no notice so we could prepare properly kind of threw a wrench in the works for my week.
Remember when I said I would get around to a bad movie eventually? Here you go! We recorded it in January as part of the Alecia Covid recovery therapy, and I did feel some vindication. This time she was the one yelling “Why??” at the screen while I laughed.
Other than the gaping plot holes and awkward attempts to cram dance numbers everywhere imaginable, it wasn’t terrible. The first one was better though. I don’t think Alicia will ever forgive them for killing Donna, although Cher helped make it all better.
This came out in 2018 from Universal Pictures. It was directed and written by Ol Parker and stars Amanda Seyfried as Sophie, Lily James as young Donna, Dominic Cooper as Sky, Julie Walters and Alexa Davies as current and young Rosie, Christine Baranski and Jessica Keenan Wynn as Tanya, Colin Firth and Hugh Skinner as Harry, Stellan Skarsgaard and Josh Dylan as Bill, and Pierce Brosnan and Jeremy Irvine as Sam.
