Welcome to the Halloween movie marathon! This year I chose vampires for the theme. Then I asked for suggestions. Wow. Either you guys hate me, love seeing me suffer, or spend too much time watching terrible movies because some of these are painful.
This one I enjoyed though. Being in black and white kept you from getting too comfortable, and it did a good job balancing between supernatural thriller and the stark reality of living in the underbelly of society. Plus I’m always a sucker for a vigilante vampire, especially a woman, It never got too scary or too gory or too off-point (see what I did there? Point? Fangs? You know, it’s not funny when I have to explain it). It was a good way to start the season.
The cat though. This cat is the real MVP. I love the pictures on the movie’s Facebook page. My cats seriously would have shredded me if I had tried to carry them around like that. Fun fact: Sunny can’t go in a carrier, so when I moved into this house, he had to just go straight in my truck. His sixteen pound ass tried to hide under the pedals. There was a lot of yelling, hissing, bleeding, and a near death experience.
This came out in 2014 from Say Ahh Productions and was written and directed by Ana Lily Amirpour. It stars Sheila And as The Girl and Arash Mirandi as Arash.
