Bride of the Killer Piñata

Betsy Watches Bride of the Killer Piñata episode copyright 2023

Have I ever mentioned how much I love these movies and watching these movie and covering these movies for the podcast? I do. A lot. Stephen Tramontana, the director and one of the writers, was kind enough to let me screen this for this week’s episode. Hopefully it will be released soon because I need to actually own it.

This movie, which has top level acting, makeup, and musical arrangements, and I’m not being sarcastic, lived up to the first one (unlike other sequels we recently covered) and added a dark twist that, to be honest, scared the crap out of Erin and me. I’m glad we watched it during the day. I mean, when I tell you guys that this movie is really well done, I mean that it is really well done. And of course we have all the campy goodness with the gorefest, great dialogues, and our new favorite character, Jimmy.

Two notes: All the background noise is from Lucy, who decided that was the perfect time to play with everything she could find, and it’s a credit to Natalie’s acting that we really disliked her as much as we did until she redeemed herself in the end. Also we did a really bad job identifying who we were talking about most of the time, so if you had trouble following, just watch it when it comes out.

This is being released by Angry Mule Productions. Stephen is also one of the writers, along with Megan Macmanus, and it stars Eliza-Jane Morris as Lindsey, Natalie Younger as Nat Hamm.
